The World Archery 3D Championships 2024 took place in Mokrice, Slovenia from 30th of September to the 6th of October.
Archery New Zealand had one archer competing: Regan Walters – Men’s Barebow (Trinity Sarjant – Team Manager). There were 62 Compound Archers, 80 Barebow Archers, 68 Longbow Archers, and 97 Traditional Archers competing.
Day 1 – Was lovely weather. Regan was excited but anxious to head out on to the course. It was a very challenging course to shoot.
Day 2 – Was overcast and rainy. Regan felt more confident in his shots due to discussions made after Day 1 with other teams.
Unfortunately, Regan placed 43rd in the Barebow Mens category and didn’t make the cut for individual matchplay. Spirits were still high, with a lot of tips and tricks being passed on to take back home. Well done Regan!
