Kia ora Clubs!

It is time again to get your enrolments in for the upcoming season’s Interclub Challenge. Please find below a link to the form for your club to complete to enter your team/s for this year, and to update your contact details for news/results.

To enter, please complete this form online here.

If your club hasn’t been involved in the Interclub Challenge previously, here is a brief description of what it involves.

The Interclub Challenge is a postal competition that is run from October to April each year, and comprises five rounds. When you enter, you will nominate how many teams you choose to enter. Each team is composed of three archers.  Club teams will compete against teams from other clubs each round.

For each round (roughly one per month), your club organises a day to shoot the modified Canadian 900 Round.  Any club members that are ANZ members can shoot (as long as they are scored/witnessed by another person), and each archer can only shoot it once per day.  Your club may choose to shoot the modified Canadian 900 multiple times across the month, and then choose the best scores to send in. Please note, all submitted scores must have been shot on the same day.

Top scorers on the day make up the teams for your club. If you have one team entered, then the top three scorers make the team for that round. If you have two teams entered, then the top three scorers make the “A” team and the next highest three make the “B” team.

Archers can only shoot for one club in the season.

Teams will compete in divisions, with six teams per division (there were 7 divisions last season) in round robin competition.  New clubs/teams start in the bottom division. At the end of the season, the winner of each division is promoted to a higher division, and the lowest ranked team in each division is demoted.  If any teams pull out of the competition, then extra teams will be promoted to fill any gaps in the divisions.

Dates for this season’s rounds are below:

  • Round One:     1st October 2024 – 31st October 2024.
  • Round Two:     1st November 2024 – 30th November 2024.
  • Round Three:   1st December 2024 – 31st January 2025.
  • Round Four:     1st February 2025 – 28 February 2025.
  • Round Five:     1st March 2025 – 31st March 2025.

Each round shoots the same modified Canadian 900 round, as detailed in the rules on the interclub page.
