Interclub Teams Challenge 2023-24 – Final Results
Last season saw great levels of participation and enthusiasm for the InterClub Challenge. For the first time in several years, we had enough club teams for seven divisions of competition, and 2023-24 saw over 200 archers across the country entering one or more scores for their club teams! Well done to all those who challenged themselves and took part for the first time, and huge congratulations to those teams who took out first place in their respective divisions.
Starting at Division 7, Trentham B was undefeated and took first place, earning a promotion to a higher division next season. Manawatu C finished in second place, and Auckland C in third.
In Division 6, Dunedin A jumped three places higher than the previous season to finish in first place, with Auckland B in second place, and Christchurch C in third place.
The Wanganui team made full advantage of their promotion into Division 5 this season, and finished in first place. Trentham A lost only to Wanganui, and finished with the highest total points in the division to finish second. Shore B took out third.
New to Division 4 this season, Shore A will be on the move again after earning a promotion and finishing first. River Glade B and Christchurch B took out second and third, respectively in Division four.
Up in Division 3, Auckland A went undefeated all season to secure first place and a promotion back to Division two, while Wairarapa A fought hard to earn second place, and Tauranga A in third.
In Division 2, the newly promoted Manawatu A powerhouse took out first place and scored the highest total points of any team across the season, earning a promotion to Division 1 next season. Southland secured second place, with Mana A in third.
And this year’s Division 1 winners and recipients of the InterClub Shield are …
Christchurch A! Â
Newly promoted to division 1 at the start of the 2023-24 season, Christchurch A managed a clean sweep of their matches, and finished in first place. Last year’s winners Mountain Green A secured second place, while the Gisborne team was close behind in third, earning slightly more points overall, but fewer match points.
Congratulations again to all those teams who finished in better standing than the previous season, and we’re excited to see you climb up the tables again in the coming season.
Preparations have begun for the 2024-25 InterClub Teams Challenge, and entry information will be coming out to club coordinators in September. Let’s have another great season in 2024-25!
